People will get two chances Wednesday to weigh in on plans for the intersection of Highway CE and Buchanan Road in Combined Locks.
The Outagamie County highway department put barriers in the median on a trial basis, in hopes of preventing serious crashes.
Highway Director Dean Steingraber says they plan to keep the barriers in place this summer. He says many people have called, asking for the county to keep the median open. But he says they have to look out for the safety of the traveling public and leaving it closed is the safest bet.
Steingraber says they haven’t made a decision on a permanent solution.
The department is holding two public meetings on Wednesday to get more feedback. They’ll be at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the highway department office on Holland Road.
