The damage at the construction site of the Fox Cities Champion Center is extensive.
That’s according to Grand Chute Police Officer Travis Waas. He says at least one person broke into the site of the indoor sports facility and started using some of the construction equipment. Construction trailers were damaged along with the building and the machinery. Waas says they don’t have an estimated cost of the damage yet.
Construction started last summer on the more than $30 million facility. The site is near the corner of Greenville Drive and McCarthy Road.
Waas says people should call police if they saw or heard anything suspicious between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
