The annual fundraising campaign by the United Way Fox Cities brought in $8.5 million.
That’s short of the goal of $8.75 million. It’s also about $200,000 below the previous year’s total.
Agency President Peter Kelly says it’s still an extraordinary amount. He says some local companies went through major restructuring, downsizing, and mergers. He says it really was a challenge to start with, and everyone involved in the campaign pulled together. He says they’re extremely grateful for the generosity of the community.
Kelly says the United Way Fox Cities will be able to make its commitments to all of the programs it pledged to support. There are more than 100 of those programs, and they impact one in three people in the Fox Cities.
