Governor Evers wants to give Marinette Marine up to $31 million for an expansion project.
He was in Marinette yesterday to announce he’ll include the funding in his proposed budget. He says it would help the company compete for a $10 billion federal shipbuilding contract. He says the expansion will make sure the company maintains a work force of 1,500 employees, and can add 400 full-time positions.
Marinette Marine is in the running for a contract to design and build a new type of ship for the Navy.
