Volunteers found 13 homeless people sleeping outside in the Fox Cities Tuesday night.
Scott Peeples is with Pillars an organization with two local shelters. He says it’s a high number especially when temperatures are so low. He says those numbers can be higher in the summer. Peeples believes the community is doing well overall helping people, but needs to create more affordable housing.
Peeples says some people came to the Salvation Army where their volunteers were based. Others were found in their cars or walking outside.
The Fox Cities Housing Coalition organized the count.
