A group of lawmakers wants to make it easier for farmers to get a safety feature for their tractors.
The proposal would pay for a percentage of a rollover system.
Republican Rep. Bob Kulp of Stratford says they weren’t included on many older models. He says about half the tractors used in the state today don’t have that protection.
Kulp says his own brother once rolled a tractor on a farm. He says his brother lived because he had a rollover structure. A similar bill was introduced last year but it didn’t get to the governor’s desk.
