Some Democrats in the state want to cut off dark-money donations to political candidates.
Democratic Representative Melissa Sargent of Madison says special interest groups are always pushing for policy changes. She says we need to make sure unlimited contributions stop so the voices of regular people can be heard.
Sargent says right now wealthy donors can hand money to political parties or campaign committees. Those groups can give the money to candidates. Sargent wants more transparency on campaign donations.
