After schools closed for last week’s snow and bitter cold districts in northeast Wisconsin are planning any make-up days.
For De Pere the day after Easter will now be a regular school day.
Superintendent Bill Villarruel thinks it’s a good idea to make a decision as quickly as possible so parents could plan ahead. He says the winter started out mild and they thought they would get through it in good shape. But he says last week’s cold wiped out the days they set aside as make up days.
Villarruel says they also had to close the high school for one day in December because of a power outage. The district will add about 10 minutes to each day at the high school to meet the required instructional time.
Oshkosh will also have a make up day on June 10th.
