ThedaCare is looking to expand a program to high schools schools in rural areas.
The goal of Sources of Strength is to reach out to students about mental health substance abuse and suicide.
Community Health Coordinator Tracey Ratzburg says ThedaCare plans to spend $300,000 over the next five years. She says that would help offset the cost to schools to implement the program, and pay for a program coordinator and two trainers.
The program is currently in schools in Calumet, Outagamie, and Winnebago counties. Ratzburg says ThedaCare wants to branch out to the other six counties in their service area.
