A Neenah man could face a series of charges for yesterday’s early morning standoff.
The counts that police are recommending for 33-year-old Daniel Maher include disorderly conduct and marijuana possession.
Officer Stu Zuehls says Maher surrendered, several hours after police went to the home on Quarry Lane on the east side. He says Maher was drunk and he threatened neighbors.
Police told the Neenah school district to close nearby Horace Mann Middle School.
District spokesman Jim Strick says every student has a device, and they were able to have a “digital learning day” instead. He says they’ve done the same thing for the recent snow and cold weather days.
It’s something the district starting doing this year. Strick believes the state Department of Public Instruction will grant them a waiver, so they don’t have to make up any days.
