A Green Bay non-profit that helps men get back on their feet might be moving to a new location.
Leaders of The Transformation House already own the former Santa Maria Nursing Home on the 400 block of Clay Street. They still need the city council to sign off on a permit.
Alderman Bill Galvin says some people in the neighborhood are hesitant. He says the perception is that they may be at risk.
Galvin wants the facility to install cameras and show how many staff are going to be on hand. Organizers say the men go through a strict screening process. They add the men also have to find a job within a week of being accepted and not use any drugs or alcohol during their stay.
The new location would house up to 46 men.
