Assembly Republicans are pushing some criminal justice proposals they want Governor Evers to include in the state budget.
Representative Ron Tusler of Harrison says they want to expand treatment and diversion programs for people with alcohol or drug problems. He says those efforts would keep people out of prison and moving in the right direction while still being supervised.
Republicans also hope to expand worker training and reentry programs for inmates. Evers will release his proposed budget next week.
