Two elementary schools in Neenah are getting some statewide attention for their counseling program.
Wilson and Hoover elementaries won a “Program of Promise” award from the Wisconsin School Counselor Association.
Hoover Counselor Katie Kessen-Checki says she worked with staff and parents to limit the number of times students are pulled out of class for a bigger issue.
Ten schools in the state received the award, and Wilson won it for the second straight year. Hoover was honored for the first time.
They were the only schools from the Fox Valley area.
