Two Green Bay brothers with a passion for running are helping students get new shoes.
Joel Kiernan started the Green Bay Shoe Closet at East High School. He came up with the idea after a classmate got hurt wearing worn-out shoes. He says that made him want to start the program so kids could run without getting hurt.
Joel’s brother Peter joined the cause. Through grants and donations they’ve given out more than 30 pairs of shoes since they started the program. They hope to expand it to all Green Bay high schools.
