Leaders of Appleton International Airport recently unveiled upgrades to the airport facility, as well as announce a significant partnership with ThedaCare. From the collaboration, travelers will notice health features throughout the airport, as well as a more convenient travel experience.
Abe Weber, Appleton International Airport Director and Jennifer Fredriksen, ThedaCare Pediatric Practice Administrator, joined us to talk about the upgrades and healthy features. Appleton International Airport is now the third largest airport in Wisconsin. In 2018, Appleton was named the fourth fastest growing airport in the country by Bloomberg News.
New additions to the airport include a more streamlined security checkpoint featuring a living plant wall and an open floor plan for improved directionality.
Appleton International Airport and ThedaCare similarly provide expert, local service to to people of Northeast and Central Wisconsin. ThedaCare’s vision throughout this partnership was to connect health and comfort to a traveler’s journey. Those moving through the airport will notice healthy menu options, hand sanitizer and comfortable, colorful seating.

“Some of the features include a changing table, charging station, refrigerator, sink, microwave and a calm, soothing environment to help mothers relax with their babies,” said Fredriksen. Both organizations say they are committed to offering a more comfortable, healthier travel experience.
