A state lawmaker from Green Bay is sharing some memories of a former colleague the late Mike Ellis.
Republican Sen. Rob Cowles testified on a proposal to name the new I-41 interchange with Highway 441 after Ellis. He says Ellis got to know them all on a personal basis, and sometimes called Cowles’ mother to talk about Cowles, and joke about different flaws of her son.
Ellis was a longtime lawmaker from Neenah and he died last July. He was 77.
