Dozens of people went to an American Red Cross shelter in the wake of the pileup.
Spokesman Justin Kern says they served about 60 meals and nearly 160 snacks at Gloria Dai Lutheran Church in Neenah. He says volunteers kept the shelter open for about seven hours to help people stay warm before they were reunited with family or friends.
He says unfortunately, they’ve dealt with a few large-scale pileups recently. There was one in the Wausau area a few weeks ago.
