Veterans on the Old Glory Honor Flight to Vietnam are reacting to being back in country after nearly 50 years.
About 50 veterans and others left the Fox Valley Sunday for the long trip back.
Bob Smithers from De Pere talked about his first impressions. He was a platoon sergeant, and he says he lost a lot of guys there. Smithers says he’s happy to be on the trip with his fellow veterans because they’re good men.
Action 2 News reporter Jeff Alexander is traveling with them, and he talked with the soldiers.
