A Republican from northeast Wisconsin doesn’t agree with President Trump’s emergency declaration over border security.
Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay was one of 13 GOP members of the House to vote against the national emergency yesterday. He says he supports physical border security and he voted for $5.7 billion in funding in the past.
Gallagher believes he can’t support the president’s actions, because he criticized former President Obama for using executive orders to get around Congress. He doesn’t see how conservatives can support the use of a national emergency.
Gallagher was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY Tuesday.
