A 24-hour fundraiser for nonprofits in the Green Bay area last week brought in almost $1.4 million.
The total from the second year of Give BIG Green Bay was much higher than last year’s $800,000.
Annie Dart of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation helped put together the event, and she says about 40 nonprofits can use the money for their most pressing needs.
The Green Bay Packers Foundation donated $250,000 this year, and the event was at the Lambeau Field Atrium.
Dart says people were able to learn about the different nonprofits, and find out how they can volunteer. She’s also excited that the number of donors doubled in the second year.
