Green Bay leaders hope to move forward on moving coal piles on the west side of the Fox River.
The C. Reiss Coal Company owns the piles by the Mason Street Bridge.
Mayor Jim Schmitt says people from both political parties on board now and they have two sellers. He says C. Reiss is interested in relocating, and WPS has a site it wants to sell. The plan is to put coal at the former WPS Pulliam Power Plant site instead.
Schmitt thinks they still have a lot of work to do to make it happen. The next step is to present the plans to the C. Reiss Coal Company.
