A Republican from Oshkosh believes two GOP lawmakers from Wisconsin were siding with the constitution when they voted against President Trump’s emergency declaration.
Congressmen Mike Gallagher of Green Bay and James Sensenbrenner of Menominee Falls were among 13 Republicans to oppose the action on border security.
U.S. Senator Ron Johnson doesn’t think the two were siding with Democrats. He says there’s also a lot of talk in the Senate about taking up the issue.
Johnson believes the president has the legal authority to make the declaration. He thinks there’s plenty of ambiguity in the wording of the emergency act.
Johnson was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning.
