Fox Crossing’s municipal judge is facing a possible suspension.
A three-judge panel is recommending that Len Kachinsky be banned from the bench from one to three years. He’s been suspended for months after he was charged last summer with stalking his court clerk. A Winnebago County jury found Kachinsky not guilty after a trial last December. He’s not running for another term in Fox Crossing next month.
The three judges called Kachinsky’s actions “persistent and aggravated” and unbefitting to a judge. They’re asking for the suspension because Kachinsky has enough experience to fill in as a reserve judge. They would also block him from subbing in Fox Crossing while the clerk is still working there.
The state Supreme Court will make the final decision.
