A Suamico woman escaped the I-43 pileup this morning.
Niki Petit says it was tough to see because of the sun and there was black ice on the Leo Frigo Bridge. She noticed cars were stopped, and she was able to stop as well before rear-ending the car in front of her.
Petit says she was able to avoid a crash but the drivers on her left and right sides did rear-end the cars in front of them. She says the drivers of some of the damaged cars were moving over to the side of the road so she and others could get by. Petit then called 911.
