The pileup on the Leo Frigo Bridge in Green Bay is leading the DOT to warn drivers that conditions can be different on the bridge.
About 30 cars crashed yesterday morning.
Traffic Safety Engineer Scott Nelson says people need to pay attention. He says even a light dusting, or just the right weather conditions, can be problematic.
Pileups on the I-43 bridge are rare but they’ve happened before. In 1990 three people died and around 30 more were hurt in a 52-car crash. Nelson says fog and smoke from paper mills were to blame for that one.
