Four county executives and the Oneida Nation have a first-of-its-kind Water Quality Pact.
The county leaders were from Brown, Outagamie, Fond du Lac.and Winnebago.
They signed the agreement to fight for clean water in northeast Wisconsin yesterday at the 20th annual Watershed Conference in Green Bay.
They believe farming, along with urban and industrial development are contributing to the decline of water quality in the Bay of Green Bay, Lake Winnebago and its tributaries.
The pact creates a steering committee to come up with solutions to ensure the health of waterways by continuing to work with landowners and other leaders on best practices.
Calumet County officials also support the pact.
