Pulaski police have a 26-year-old man in custody.
They arrested Daniel Williams yesterday morning after looking for him for about five hours.
They believe Williams broke into several homes and cars.
Police say it started when he broke into a home in the 200 block of W. Pulaski Street Tuesday night.
Heather Tutor lives there and says she and her mom were watching TV when they heard a knock at the back door.
Tutor says Williams was standing in the kitchen, shaking and crying, with his hand bleeding onto the floor.
He begged them not to call police and Tutor says all he wanted was dry socks and shoes.
She gave him socks and slippers and he left his shoes and socks behind.
Police believe he hurt himself breaking into an apartment.
