Appleton taxpayers are footing an $80,000 bill for legal fees for the Fox Cities Exhibition Center.
The city disputed what was nearly $130,000 in charges. City officials worked out an agreement with the law firm.
The city hired an outside attorney to work on a financing package for the facility. It was eventually dropped, because other communities pushed for a traditional bond deal.
