A Milwaukee Democrat is talking about a proposal by Governor Evers to allow people in the state illegally to get drivers licenses.
Senator JoCasta Zamarripa thinks it makes sense. She says it’ll prove they know the rules of the road and that will enhance public safety.
Some Republicans say policy measures don’t belong in the state budget. Zamarripa offered the same proposal as a separate bill during the last legislative session but it failed to get Republican support.
