Investigators believe kids and technology are helping catch more online predators.
Lt. Jim Valley of the Brown County Sheriff’s department says the work to teach parents and children how to stay a step ahead, appears to be paying off. He says kids are telling their parents when someone’s asking for a picture, or to meet. And Valley believes parents are doing a better job of tracking what’s happening on the child’s devices.
The department’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit has investigated 18 cases so far this year. That’s compared to eight at this time a year ago.
