Severe flooding in Fond du Lac displaced hundreds of people.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says they worked with fire and police departments to get people out of homes and apartment buildings.
Crews from Alliant Energy also went door-to-door making sure gas and electricity was off in the affected homes. He says all the people are safe, and now they’re focused on infrastructure and preservation.
The Red Cross set up an emergency shelter at Community Church. About 75 people signed up to use it tonight. There’s also another shelter at Harbor Haven on 1st Street.
