Sheriff Jerry Sauve says they worked with Paraben Corporation to analyze a DNA sample of the suspect. He says the company was able to take the full profile, and start telling investigators the origin of the suspect, and even a surname.
Sauve says they used the information to interview people and get DNA samples, to start ruling people out. He says they kept getting closer because more DNA markers were matching. He says they eventually got a sample from Vannieuwenhoven.
