An administrative law judge is throwing out a key environmental permit for the Kohler Company’s new luxury golf course along Lake Michigan in Sheboygan County.
The Friends of the Black River Forest is challenging the DNR’s decision. The agency ruled that the loss of nearly four acres of wetlands and shoreline forest was acceptable.
The course’s opponents believe former Republican Governor Scott Walker’s administration pressured the DNR to approve the project.
Kohler plans to appeal.
