Police are teaching parents in the Appleton school district about vaping.
School Resource Officer Matthew Anderson is seeing both middle school and high school students using e-cigarettes. He says a number of the devices are designed to be easily hidden. He says some look like long USB sticks, and they’re even charged by using a USB port.
Anderson says students can get tickets if they’re caught with e-cigarettes. He says they could face community service, a drug and alcohol safety course, or fines.
Officers talked with parents at Einstein Middle School last night. They also covered issues with social media and bullying.
