A 22-year-old Shawano woman is facing a trial in connection with the death of her child.
Catherine Barker waived her preliminary hearing yesterday. She’s charged with child neglect, failing to report the death of a child, and trying to hide a body.
Prosecutors say Barker reported her two-month-old son accidentally suffocated under a blanket last fall. They believe she planned to bury the child in the country.
