A grease fire that got out of control left a New London home with extensive smoke and heat damage.
Fire crews saw flames coming from the kitchen of the home in the 1000 block of South Mill Street around 10 p.m.
A woman says she was cooking when the fire started.
She was able to escape with her three children.
The Red Cross is helping the family.
