Construction crews are working to make up for lost time on the Community First Champion Center project.
Their progress was put on hold for a few weeks earlier this year because of vandalism at the site in Grand Chute.
Town Community Development Director Bob Buckingham says they’re reaching an important milestone on the sports facility. He expects work to pick up the pace.
He says once everything is enclosed they won’t have to worry about the weather anymore. Buckingham believes they’ll be ready to open sometime in the fall. The more than $30 million sports facility is expected to draw teams from around the Midwest. Three percent of hotel room tax revenues will be used to pay for it.
