There’s going to be road construction on one of the major streets on the west side of Appleton for the next two years.
Crews started work today on a stretch of Prospect Avenue. The street is closed from Haskel Street, near the railroad tracks, west to Douglas Street by Xavier High School.
City spokesman Chad Doran says they’ll be replacing the underground utilities until mid-June.
When the school year is over at Xavier, Doran says they’re going to close the street from Douglas Street to Seminole Road, to do the same thing on that stretch of Prospect Avenue.
Next year, the city will replace the concrete. Doran says the street is in pretty rough shape right now.
