Police say a 35-year-old Appleton man is the suspect in a double murder in Manitowoc.
Fifty-one-year-old Richard Miller and his 19-year-old daughter Jocelyn were found dead in their Dale Street home, on the west side, last September.
Capt. Jason Freiboth says they arrested Karl Hess several days after police released video of a potential suspect. He says a lot of names of potential suspects came up during the investigation, and he believes Hess was one of them. He says they didn’t zero in on him until there was a connection with the video.
Freiboth believes Hess was friends with Richard Miller, and he knew Jocelyn.
He says the two were killed on a Friday night, and their bodies weren’t found until the following Sunday morning. Freiboth didn’t release a motive.
Hess is expected to be in court tomorrow afternoon.
