The man convicted of killing a Ledgeview woman plans to appeal orders that he pay restitution to the victim’s family.
A jury found George Burch guilty of the 2016 murder of Nicole VanderHeyden. The 31-year-old mother of three was found dead in a field in Bellevue.
Burch is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
A Brown County judge is ordering Burch to pay more than $37,000 to VanderHeyden’s boyfriend, mother, and sister.
Burch is also appealing the murder conviction.
