One of the top officials in the Evers administration says talks are ongoing with Majority Republicans in the Legislature about the state budget.
Department of Administration Secretary Joel Brennan says the negotiations go beyond what people are seeing from social media posts by lawmakers. He says he’s talked with members of the Legislature’s budget committee recently. He says it’s time to go over areas where they could come to agreements.
Brennan was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning.
Governor Evers introduced his proposed budget last month. The Legislature’s budget committee is planning to hold hearings around the state soon.
