Governor Evers says communication is happening between his staff and the staff of GOP leaders.
Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke of Vandenbroek doesn’t think that’s good enough. He says they have to negotiate directly throughout the process, and negotiating through staff doesn’t make any sense.
Evers and Republicans are proposing different state budgets. They also have an ongoing legal battle over restrictions put in place during last year’s lame duck session.
