Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt is wrapping up his final days in office and he’s giving away some things he collected.
Schmitt hosted an open house today. He let people take things like hats, posters, and pins. After 16 years in office Schmitt thinks it’s the right time to step away. He thinks the city is in great shape, and he’s excited for the candidates on today’s ballot.
Schmitt isn’t sure what he’ll do next. He plans to take the summer off and then look at what else is out there.
The two candidates for Green Bay mayor are Brown County Supervisor Patrick Buckley and former Democratic state Representative Eric Genrich.
