There’s a race for mayor in Oshkosh on tomorrow’s ballot.
Incumbent Mayor Steve Cummings faces Deputy Mayor Lori Palmeri.
Cummings believes they can help improve some of the older homes in the central city. He wants to increase a grant for converting a duplex back into a single-family home, to $25,000. It’s currently $5,000.
Cummings thinks big-box retailers along I-41 need to reinvent themselves. He says it’s not up to the city to bail them out. He also believes the city needs to be careful, when using incentives for redeveloping vacant stores.
