Over 100 students at Freedom Elementary School got a chance to learn about how to be ready for emergencies.
Robert Olson of the Outagamie County emergency management department took part in a program for fourth-graders today. He focuses on things like severe weather, fires and power outages.
He hopes every family puts together survival kits. They could include a backpack with different items for each child.
Olson believes they’re giving kids a heightened sense of awareness. He hopes they take that message home to encourage their parents to be better prepared.
