Green Bay police are teaming up with the Brown County Homeless and Housing Coalition to connect those who need help with services.
Officer Paul Van Handel says using police to connect people struggling with homelessness is a no-brainier because they are usually the first point of contact.
The Homeless Outreach Team also known as HOT has been running for about a month.
Van Handel believes within hours they’ve been able to put people in touch with resources to get them off the street.
