The Oshkosh Area Humane Society had to take in a couple of unusual guests late last month.
Admissions Manager Cari Tetzlaff says police found a 10-foot python, and a dwarf caiman at a home in the city. Both are illegal to have in Oshkosh.
A caiman looks like a mini-alligator, and Tetzlaff says they had to put together a temporary place for it to live, after talking with reptile experts.
She says they treated some wounds on the python, because it was being fed with live mice.
A group in the Madison area that handles reptiles picked up the python and caiman, and found new, legal homes for them.
