The leader in the state Supreme Court race is confident the results will hold up, if there’s a recount.
Judge Brian Hagedorn is ahead of Judge Lisa Neubauer by less than 6,000 votes. There were more than 1.2 million cast.
Hagedorn is declaring victory today. He doesn’t believe there’s been a recount in recent history where that margin was overcome. He thinks barring something highly unusual, the results will stand.
Neubauer is trailing by about a half-percent, and that’s within the limit to ask for a recount. Her campaign would have to pay for it.
The race is considered nonpartisan, but a win by Hagedorn would give conservatives a 5-2 edge on the court.
