Well-known political strategists held a public conversation session yesterday at UW-Green Bay.
Democrat David Axelrod and Republican Karl Rove talked about politics in today’s world.
Axelrod served as a senior adviser to President Barack Obama and Rove served as a senior adviser and Deputy Chief of Staff during the President George W. Bush administration.
They don’t agree on many political issues but do agree that Wisconsin is a battleground state.
Axelrod cited the razor thin results of Tuesday’s Wisconsin Supreme Court race and says Democrats will need strong support out of Milwaukee if they want to capture the 2020 presidential election.
Both agree it was wise for the Democrats to pick Milwaukee to host the party’s convention in July of next year.
