A big fishing tournament is scheduled this weekend in Green Bay and at least one fishing group feels the city isn’t giving them enough support.
Some fishermen are worried because city crews haven’t put in the docks at the Metro Boat ramp at the mouth of the Fox River.
Great Lakes Sports Fishermen Group president Jim Pyle says that’s one of the main docks used.
He says without all the docks in place lines will be long at places like the Fox Point boat launch in De Pere.
Green Bay Public Works Director Steve Grenier says dock installation depends on the weather.
He says ramps are usually put in the first or second week of May.
Grenier says they put the docks in earlier last year for the fishing group but they were damaged by ice blown in from the bay.
